Sun: four weeks after the final session
Avoid direct sunbathing for 4 weeks after the final session; do not use sunbeds. Choose shade and clean headwear without friction. Use broad-spectrum SPF 50 or 50+ only once skin is closed, scabs are gone and irritation has settled, never on open or weeping skin. The guide lists Avène Intense Protect SPF 50+ or Biodermal Gevoelige Huid Zonnecrème Gezicht SPF 50+. Follow the label and reapply outdoors about every two hours and after sweating, water contact or towel drying. SPF does not permit sunbathing during the first four weeks. Continue protection afterwards.
Holidays and maintenance
Sun exposure and lifestyle influence the appearance over time. There is no fixed lifespan for everyone. Discuss holidays when scheduling sessions and include swimming and sweating in that conversation. A touch-up is assessed from the healed appearance and skin condition, rather than simply the months since your last visit.
Applying this to your situation
Sun protection starts with planning. Discuss outdoor work or an upcoming sunny holiday before booking. Shade and suitable loose headwear can matter during healing; sunscreen does not belong on open skin. After healing, a consistent protection routine helps limit UV exposure.
What we consider in your assessment
Consider everyday sun exposure, including cycling or outdoor work. Explain how much time you spend outside. The team can relate the instructions to your usual day.
