14 days without heavy sweating
Avoid exercise causing heavy sweating for the first 14 full days after each session, including running, heavy lifting, HIIT, spinning and hot yoga. Gentle walking without sweating is allowed. Resume gradually only afterwards, when skin is calm, free of scabs and not tender. Stop for irritation, burning or throbbing. Pat sweat gently; do not clean aggressively after accidental sweating. Discuss strenuous work, heat or required helmets beforehand. Keep essential safety equipment and temporarily adapt the activity or work instead.
Helmets, bands and towels
Helmets and sports bands can press or rub against the treated area. Discuss necessary use in advance and keep equipment clean. Do not rub the scalp dry vigorously or scratch itching areas. Do not resume sport solely because a quick photograph looks calm; sensitivity and recovery also matter.
Applying this to your situation
Think beyond exercise intensity: a tight helmet, shared mat or repeatedly wiping sweat can also matter. Recovery guidance concerns exertion, friction and hygiene together. Restart gradually and ask about uncertain skin changes before returning to full intensity.
What we consider in your assessment
Training involves more than sweating: friction and contact with equipment may matter too. Describe your sport and whether you wear a helmet so you can plan the recommended pause practically.
Your next step with Mehmet
Describe your usual sports week. Running, gym work, contact sport and long cycling sessions raise different questions about sweat, friction and protection. We discuss temporary changes around your session so you can return in line with healing.
