How does SMP change over time?

SMP longevity has no identical answer for everyone. Separate normal healing after a session from changes over the longer term.

SMP over time

Fresh is not the same as healed

Immediately after treatment, pigmentation may look darker or stronger. Its appearance changes during healing. Do not immediately conclude that more pigment is needed or that the current colour is final. Follow review arrangements and use comparable photographs. A healed result is a better basis for discussing further work than a same-day image.

Longer-term influences

Skin, healing, lifestyle, sun exposure and pigment behaviour all matter. Changes in your real hair also affect the overall look. A promise of an exact number of unchanged years does not reflect that variation. Ask about aftercare, sun protection and when to arrange a maintenance assessment.

Assess maintenance individually

A touch-up is not an automatic calendar obligation. Existing pigment, skin condition and your goals are assessed first. The listed SMP Touch-Up category is for correctly performed existing SMP. Unsatisfactory previous work or unusual colour may require a different assessment; do not book solely from the lowest maintenance price.

Applying this to your situation

Maintenance is about more than fading. Hair length, skin and preferences may have changed too. Compare evenly lit photographs and discuss what you actually want adjusted. This helps avoid adding pigment simply because one poorly lit view looks different.

Can an exact lifespan be predicted?

No. Skin, retention, sun exposure and lifestyle differ too much, as do preferences about appearance. Consider how maintenance is assessed and explained. Individual follow-up is more useful than a universal lifespan promise. Contact the clinic when you notice a change you want to discuss.

What we consider in your assessment

Compare changes under similar conditions. Different hair length or stronger lighting may alter apparent contrast. Keep a few clear overview photographs to discuss what you notice during a review.

Your next step with Mehmet

Keep a clear photograph of the healed result in consistent daylight. It helps later discussions about changes in colour, hair length or density. Mehmet can review whether your routine is sufficient or an in-person check would be useful.

Reviews and consistent photographs

We request review photographs the day after treatment and on days 3, 7 and 14, then 4–6 weeks after the final session. The early schedule restarts after each new session. Use indirect daylight, consistent distance and angles, without filters or colour changes. Send front, right, left and top views, plus the back if treated. State days since treatment and whether symptoms improve or worsen. Share through the agreed clinic channel within your separate choice for clinical photos; discuss another review method if you decline photos. Do not wait for review day when symptoms occur. Photos cannot replace a necessary examination; a review does not automatically mean another session.
