Include topical products
List prescriptions, supplements, over-the-counter medicines and scalp products. Include hair lotions, minoxidil, styling products and treatments for skin symptoms. Note frequency and previous reactions. A clear list is more useful than trying to remember brand names during the appointment.
Change only with appropriate advice
Do not stop prescribed medication for SMP without consulting the prescriber. Do not start extra products for recovery or comfort without advice. HM aftercare says minoxidil should not be applied to incompletely healed skin; resuming it should be discussed. Request individual instructions when several products or treatments overlap. This website cannot assess your medical situation.
Report changes
Report new medication, skin reactions or relevant changes between consultation and treatment. Suitability may need reassessment. Share medical details only as needed and ask which channel is appropriate. Your name and appointment request usually suffice for an initial WhatsApp message; do not send a full medical record immediately.
Applying this to your situation
Prepare the names of medicines and products before consultation. A packaging photo, shared through the agreed channel, may avoid confusion about ingredients. The aim is suitable preparation rather than stopping treatment yourself. Changes to prescriptions should be discussed with the prescriber.
Should I change medication for SMP?
Do not change it yourself. The prescribing clinician decides whether an adjustment is appropriate, regardless of general online advice about blood thinners or skin products. Disclose use beforehand. Cosmetic treatment should fit a medically appropriate situation rather than compromise necessary medication.
What we consider in your assessment
A complete list is easier than remembering product names during a conversation. Note what you use and discuss it at intake. Do not independently change prescribed medication for a cosmetic procedure.
Your next step with Mehmet
Prepare a list of medicines, scalp products and supplements for your personal intake. This helps relevant questions reach the appropriate clinician in time rather than only coming up on treatment day.
Styling, hair dye and medicines
No hair dye, bleach or chemical perms throughout the session series or for 4 weeks after the final session, nor on unhealed skin afterwards. Avoid hair fibres, concealing spray, dry shampoo, gel, wax and pomade for 14 days, longer if scabs or irritation remain. No topical minoxidil on the treated area during the series and until fully healed. Agree interruption of prescribed topical minoxidil and restarting with your doctor or pharmacist. Do not independently stop oral minoxidil, blood thinners or other prescribed medicines. Seek separate advice for PRP, microneedling, laser or hair-system adhesives.
