Understanding contrast
SMP may visually soften the difference between scalp and surrounding hair. It does not thicken individual hairs or fill a bald area with real hair. A crown with scattered existing hair therefore needs a different discussion from a completely bare area. Hair direction, length and visible scalp are useful points to assess.
Which price category fits?
The price list includes Crown Density, but not every visible crown area automatically fits that category. If the middle or front also needs work, the scope may be different. Ask for a clear description of the treatment area and its transition into untreated regions. This lets you compare prices for equivalent work.
Preparing with photographs
Take top, front and rear views in even daylight, without hair fibres or filters. Images help prepare a discussion, but suitability and category require assessment. Mention whether thinning is still changing. SMP does not stop further hair loss; a plan needs to consider existing hair and possible later adjustments.

At the crown we consider the natural whorl. Hair direction can expose different areas from different angles. Arrive with your usual hairstyle rather than covering the crown specifically for the consultation. Explain where you want improvement: in daylight, photographs or during styling. This helps relate the design to the situations that actually matter to you.
Does treatment cover only the crown?
It depends on the overall pattern. Sometimes the crown is the only relevant area; sometimes thinning extends into the mid-scalp. We assess the transition rather than marking a fixed circle. Pricing follows the agreed scope, including whether surrounding zones are involved and why.
