Temporary product or pigmentation
Hair fibres are a cosmetic product applied and washed out; SMP places pigment in the skin. Fibres depend on product instructions, existing hair and routine. SMP involves assessment, treatment, healing and possible later maintenance. Neither creates new follicles. Compare how the effect is achieved and maintained, rather than one before-and-after image.
Which routine do you want?
Consider exercise, washing, travel and daily time. Wanting less daily application does not automatically make SMP suitable. Existing hair or a realistic shaved-look goal must fit the plan. Bring an image without fibres so the starting point is visible. Explain what you like and dislike about your current solution.
Products during SMP recovery
HM aftercare advises avoiding styling gel, wax, spray and hair fibres on the treated area during early healing. Discuss when these can resume. If you normally use daily camouflage, plan for that interruption. A useful decision considers recovery as well as everyday life afterwards.
Applying this to your situation
Compare everyday use: application, cleaning, exercise and wet hair. Hair fibres are a temporary product; SMP changes scalp appearance with pigment and requires healing. Suitability depends on existing hair, maintenance preferences and the effect you want.
Can I continue using fibres after SMP?
HM aftercare advises against fibres and camouflage products during early healing. Later, discuss whether use fits healed skin and your desired appearance. Assess the SMP result without temporary camouflage too, so its own effect is clear. Plan temporary changes to your routine before treatment.
What we consider in your assessment
Compare the daily routine too: application, washing and when your scalp is visible. A method that works well for one person may feel demanding to another. Consider your preferences alongside the visual effect.
