Pigment has no length
Pigment remains in the skin while existing hair continues growing. Letting surrounding hair grow can make differences in texture and volume more apparent. Ask what length suits your goal and how much upkeep it requires. A freshly shaved reference photo says little about the appearance after a week without shaving.
Shaving, sleep and headwear
Guarded clippers may be considered after at least 7 full days, with no scabs, open areas or tenderness. A razor or close-shaving electric shaver requires at least 14 full days and healed skin. Use clean personal equipment without pressure; never shave over scabs. Use clean loose headwear if needed, without rubbing. Avoid non-essential tight bands or pressure equipment for the first 14 days. Use a clean pillowcase; SMP alone does not require upright sleeping unless separately instructed.
Choose a manageable routine
Be honest about the time you want to spend shaving. A design that depends on a routine you do not want to maintain is not practical. Discuss how scars and side transitions may show with short hair. A consultation lets you make that decision before reserving treatment.
Applying this to your situation
Discuss your shaving routine across a normal week. How quickly do the sides grow, and how often do you want to maintain them? A suitable design considers that routine. Where practical, try the preferred short length before consultation so you know how comfortable it feels.
Which length do we discuss at consultation?
We consider the length you find comfortable and practical together with the contrast between pigment and existing hair. No universal clipper setting creates the same effect for everyone. Photographs across your normal shaving routine can show how the appearance changes between shaves and the upkeep you prefer.
What we consider in your assessment
The transition into the sides influences a coherent shaved look. Explain your usual shaving tool and length. Mehmet can discuss how that routine relates to the chosen pigment pattern.
